Rancho RS9000X

These are the shocks most 4WD distributors would like to see banned. Or, at least, kept under our counter in plain brown paper!
We can understand the way that they feel. We wouldn’t like to try selling an ‘ordinary’ 4WD shock when, for a slightly larger outlay, the customer could buy the Rancho RS9000X. A better-quality product with 15-stage internal velocity-sensitive valving AND a 9-position, external ride-adjustment knob that permits alteration of the stiffness by up to 800%
As the industry's finest and most proven adjustable shock absorber, Rancho's RS9000X patented 9-position technology leads in all categories:
Ease of use. Durability. Fit and performance.
The RS9000X is fully adjustable while mounted on the vehicle which allows drivers to easily 'dial-in' their ride for precise control in any condition. Tuning the compression and rebound damping is easily metered by manually changing the setting of the dial at the bottom of the shock.
Rancho RS9000X shocks give you total control over the ride-quality of your 4WD with a simple fingertip adjustment. Comfort on the road and the ultimate control in the most demanding off-road conditions.
Inside the Rancho RS9000X
The RS9000X also features Rancho's exclusive 15-stage velocity-sensitive valving for enhanced traction and stability. The shocks advanced tri-tube (reserve/intermediate/primary) design yields 17 times greater the fluid area than its predecessor ensuring exceptional performance under a full range of load and temperature conditions.
Compared to what???? The RS9000X's features include:
- Made in the USA utilising Rancho Industries 55 years of experience as a dedicated 4wd suspension component manufacturer/operation.
- Patented 9-postion adjustment for the desired ride and performance: Off-road. On-road. Or anything in between.
- Exclusive 15-stage velocity-sensitive valving for enhanced traction and stability.
- Advanced tri-tube design that ensures exception performance under a full range of load and temperature conditions.
- Foam-Cell construction controls the oil for consistent performance in tough conditions.
- A micro-polished cylinder wall combined with a glass filled Teflon seal: Representing the finest of build-quality which enhances the shock's amazing durability and heat-reduction qualities.
- Softer on compression than rebound damping rate: For superior ride-quality and performance both on and off-road.
- Industry-leading, money-where-our-mouth is 3-year warranty* with no restriction to the kms traveled within this period.

Push-button society
There’s an optional in-cab system that lets you adjust the front and/or rear shocks at the touch of a button - even while driving. Gauges, included in the kit, show front and rear settings.
One of our customers mounted the controls way over on the passenger side of his Troopie. He reckons that if his wife ever complains about the ride, he’ll say, “That’s your department. You fix it.”

This all-new RCX in-cab system remote control offers the 'next-level' of damping adjustment. Features include:
- Push-to-connect fittings for leak-free operation.
- Heavy-duty all-weather compressor.
- Provides full on-the-move adjustability from inside the cab.
- One touch control panel with dual gauges for precise shock control.
- Detailed instructions, plus all hardware for easy Do-It-Yourself installation.
- Limited 2-Year 40,000km warranty.
Other reasons to buy.
Did you know that many other brands of shocks (even those that claimed to be especially 'tuned') operate on a simple design formula. For example: original valving, plus 20% uprate.
Now if you own dual-purpose vehicle, say a Toyota Hilux dual-cab, and the Hilux is used for both work and family, these other uprate-type shocks cannot give you both the control you desire under load or towing, and also provide a great unladen or lighter-load ride.
Same deal for 4WD family wagons that perhaps spend 90% of their time 'around town', yet load up to tackle more serious terrain on weekends and holidays.
With a set of Rancho RS9000X shocks under your vehicle is it great to be able to dial up firm for maximum control when required. When unladen or with lighter loads, you can dial the shocks valving right down (even much softer than the factory shock valving if you like). This allows the relatively stiff 4WD springs to operate more freely, and results in a significantly better, more comfortable ride. It really does make a big difference.
Can you handle the facts?
It's tough choosing shocks for your 4wd. There are more than 20 brands available, with most sellers describing that the product that they sell is the best for your purposes (whatever that may be).
If you phone around, or walk into your typical 4wd shop or suspension outlet, you should be able to relate to the fact that most 4wd shop/suspension salespeople do not know that much about their own product, let alone how it actually compares to others. They normally have one agenda (to get your sale) and will use some unsubstantiated "competition knocking" and rely on a few "jargon" terms from their desk catalogue that will supposedly 'convince' you that their product is the best.
