Free Delivery Offer

When in comes to purchasing your 4WD items - just because you might live outside of a capital city, doesn't mean you should be treated as a second-class customer.

"Freight's an extra $XX and it will take a coupla' weeks!"

For city dwellers, why waste so much time tramping about town "talking to people" who don't even stock the products they advertise that they sell.

"Mate! I don't stock it, but I can get it in for you!"

At 4WD1, we are "the business", and we want your business no matter where you live in Australia.

So, until further notice, on orders totaling $100* or more, we will pay the cost of insured, registered post or road freight, to any destination within Australia at the prices listed for items on our website.

It's true! No matter where you live: Bamaga, Carnarvon, Byron Bay, Port Arthur, or anywhere in between, we can send your order safely by post, or with a reputable national freight company.

Example 1

John Woods lives and works in the Sydney CBD. Like most people, John is a busy guy. He wants to purchase a 4Way return-to-centre steering damper for his 1988 Nissan Patrol. At first, John makes a number of phone calls to 4WD shops and suspension resellers in his area.

After a bit of phone fumbling at the receiving end, the guy finds someone who "knows something" about the product. He is told the price. John asks the 4WD shop if they have in it stock. The reseller doesn't. Says he can "get it in a coupla' days".

John spends the best part of an hour making similar type calls. It is a frustrating experience. Eventually he finds a shop that says they have the item on the shelf. The shop is a good 40 minutes away from his workplace. He takes time off work to go and get it. When he gets there, he finds it is the wrong model of damper.

Someone tells John about 4WD1. John calls us, and makes the same query. Immediately, he is told its value, that it is in stock, and the salesperson also asks John a few extra questions about his vehicle to make sure he is getting both the best application- as well as the right part number of product.

John accepts our free-delivery offer. He pays over the phone on his credit card- And the item is delivered to his work office in the Sydney CBD the next morning.

John is another happy 4WD1 customer!

Example 2

Steve Sheppard lives at Cape Leveque in WA, a few hours drive north of Broome, on the way to the Kimberleys.

Steve wants to purchase a premium-quality suspension system for his 2003 GU patrol. There is no-one to service his needs in his immediate area, so he makes numerous calls to larger towns including Broome, Port Hedland, Exmouth and Perth.

It is a difficult experience. Steve has got the impression from talking to other operators that the knowledge of the sales guy is limited to what they have read in a catalogue. The sales people spit out a few jargon words, followed by "they're good" before going into some low-level competition-knocking.

Steve doesn't expect to talk to a 'rocket scientist', but he's getting the impression that the only qualification you need to work in 4WD sales is to own some sort of 4WD vehicle.

Most of the people Steve speaks to, begin to blurt out prices about "a kit" without really identifying what Steve's needs are, his vehicle setup, usage, expectations etc. But the salesperson will probably tell Steve "This is the best!"

One crowd is promoting themselves as a reseller of the Tough Dog product. Steve's heard good things about Tough Dog and makes enquiries with the business. After answering the phone, Steve is asked to 'hold on' while the reseller finds his price list. A few minutes later, the salesperson is back on the phone and beginning to rattle off prices. Steve is more interested in understanding the 'benefits' of the product, and questions the salesperson.

The salesperson is a bit twigged. He tells Steve that the shocks are the best because they are the biggest. Steve is frustrated by the salespersons lack of product knowledge. He goes over the pricing with the salesperson. They don't keep stock of the product on the shelf. The salesperson says he will ring Steve back to confirm availability and when he could 'get it in'.

The salesperson doesn't ring back. Steve rings the salesperson back the next morning. The salesman tells Steve the product has to come out from Sydney, then from Sydney to Perth, and from where the resellers is located they could probably get the goods up to Broome. There will be freight charges to pay, and it will take about 2 weeks if everything goes smoothly.

Steve is not real happy. If a reseller or 4WD shop doesn't stock an item, and it could take more than 2 weeks to get the goods, what does that say about the resellers product knowledge, and service ability. What if Steve needs after-sales support?

Someone tells Steve about 4WD1. Steve calls us and tells a salesperson his experience. The salesperson at 4WD1 asks Steve a heap of questions before even discussing products and prices. Things like his exact vehicle type, the way he has or intends to set the vehicle up, his personal expectations of the suspensions performance and so on.

After getting the information our salesperson needs to make the appropriate recommendation. Our salesman outlines the solution to Steve. Our salesperson is able to show how his application is in fit with Steve's needs and why/how it is so.

If Steve has heard "otherwise" from someone else, our salesperson is quickly able to identify with the comment and straighten-out the concern.

In this particular case, Steve buys a combination of Tough Dog and Rockcrawler product, with a heavy-duty foam-cell steering damper.

Steve doesn't have a credit card, but was able to order by COD post. Steve paid the post office agency when the goods arrived. It didn't take too long, because the goods were on their way the same day he gave the order to 4WD1.

There was no charge for the postage, just a $9.00 fee for the Australia Post COD charge.

Steve is another happy 4WD1 customer!
